Fix a connection

Find the missing step without sharing a password or API key.

I cannot connect

Check that your assistant account supports custom MCP connections and its administrator permits them. Use the exact MCP URL and the client ID for that assistant from MightWork Connections. The IDs differ between Claude and ChatGPT.

Use OAuth with no client secret for the hosted assistants. For a script, use an API key in the Authorization header. A Clerk sign-in cookie, provider API key or skill download is not a MightWork API credential.

Diagnose my MightWork connection using https://mightwork.us/docs/troubleshooting. Ask which assistant I use and the error text, without credentials or customer records. Check the endpoint, authentication method, matching public client ID, workspace access and permissions. If connected, call workspace to verify. Distinguish an unavailable tool, denied access, an empty result and a service error. Do not rotate credentials or change account settings without my direction. Return the likely cause, checks performed and the smallest next step; include a request ID if available, never a token.

Wrong workspace or permission denied

Disconnect in the assistant, reconnect and select the correct organization on the MightWork consent screen. Changing your dashboard's active workspace does not move an existing connection.

Ask your workspace owner to enable agent access and check its OAuth permissions. API keys keep their own selected scopes. Your current plan and membership still apply. Booking changes require an owner. A teammate or read-only session cannot issue keys.

Missing tools or data

Refresh the assistant's tool list after changing permissions. Call workspace to see effective access. If brain is empty, add business facts. If calendar has no services, configure your booking setup. Narrow the date range when calendar reports truncation.

A 503 means the service could not confirm a result. Retry reads later; inspect the booking before retrying a write. Keep the request ID when contacting support. Never send credentials or customer records in a support request unless needed and explicitly requested.

Stop access

Pause agent access in Connections to stop every OAuth connection and API key for the workspace. Revoke a specific API key to permanently invalidate it. Disconnect an assistant in that provider's settings to end that connection.

Pausing does not delete your business data or erase data already retrieved by an assistant. Re-enabling access permits still-valid credentials again; revoke credentials you no longer trust before re-enabling.
